Tournaments rules & prizes
The Ellie Cup will be played along a knock-out system, starting with 32 players. These 32 players will be the top registered players, selected along their rating on the EGF scale. Players with no EGF rating will be evaluated on their internet rating.
After each round, the Ellie Cup’s players who have lost a game will rejoin the TIGGRE MacMahon tournament.
The Ellie Cup players will compete for the “Ellie Cup Champion” title and for money prizes. The amount of the money offered will be different whether they are European (meaning with a nationality recognised by the EGF) or non-European, as follows :
- The “Ellie Cup Champion” title
- 1st European prize 1000 €
- 2nd European prize 500 €
- 3rd European prize 300 €
- 4th European prize 200 €
If the winners of the Ellie Cup are non-Europeans, the first prize will be 500 €, the second prize 200 €.
The other players registered in the TIGGRE will play 5 rounds in a MacMahon tournament.
At the end of the competition, players will be ranked by MMS, SOS and SOSOS, including the players from the Ellie Cup who rejoined the TIGGRE.
There will be prizes for all players with 5 or 4 victories.
The organisers and players will follow the EGF General tournament rules.
Using go software and tools is forbidden during the games. Only go recording tools are allowed if both players explicitly agree.
